MEET CHESTER!

This super special boy is named Chester! Chester is a ~12 year old orange and white Tabby who miraculously survived being abandoned in a Philadelphia park in a closed cat carrier. Its believed that Chester was in the carrier for days based on his physical condition when rescued by a first responder and brought to the shelter. He was emaciated and covered in urine. Luckily, that's all behind him now and he's absolutely flourishing in foster care!

Chester was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism upon coming to the rescue though began gaining much needed weight as soon as he left the shelter and now looks like a whole new cat. He's on a daily medication that costs us about $15 a month and keeps him feeling great! He's also not letting what he's been through sully his outlook on life or love of people! Though a bit shy when meeting new people, he opens up wonderfully with a little time and will become your handsome little shadow. Chester absolutely loves attention and will grab you hand with his little paw to let you know he'd like some pets. He'll flop over on his side and do "air biscuits", bump his adorable head into your leg, and even spoon with you on the couch! Chester is living with other cats in foster care and is being slowly introduced to them. He'll hiss out of defense when he sees them but then walks away. He also didn't seem phased when meeting dogs at the vet. We think he'd do well in a house with other low-key pets like himself with proper introduction. This sweet guy would love a quieter home and can't wait to find the perfect adopter!
