Meet Chere Pakhovyy (aka Shelly)

Take a walk on the not-so-wild-anymore side! Meet Chere Pahkovvy (cherepakovvy is tortoiseshell in Ukrainian)-- aka Shelly, a formerly feral cat found on a Kentucky mountaintop having difficulties breathing. The kind soul who found Chere worked with a Kentucky Shelter to send her to Chicago to fix her medical issues and fix them they did indeed. This girl is now an athlete who loves to run and jump and play, play, play.

Chere likes to be around people and other cats yet is good about playing on her own. She is curious, wants love and can be very funny, but she also displays a bit of tortitude at times (can't we all?) with eyes that match.

Chere really wants to be a housecat, but coming from a wild background, Chere has had to learn to house cat. She has learned well but is still a work in progress. Her family will need to continue her education on some of the finer points of play and cuddling. That is why the best situation for Chere would be a house without young children (note: she has been good with young visitors). Chere would be best in a house with, at least, one other active cat. She has not been tested with dogs.

Help give this tortie the life she wants and deserves.
