Meet Charleston

There are “people-cats” and then there are “cat-cats.” Charleston (or Charlie, for short) is a “cat-cat” at heart but working hard to become a solid blend of both. Charlie is a sweet, two-year-old guy who arrived at TCC after living outdoors and fending for himself. In a relatively short time at his foster family’s house, however, he has learned a lot about the beauty of life indoors and the benefits of human love. Charlie is already a big fan of belly rubs and ear scratches and loves to announce his impending arrival in the room with his cute little chirps to let you know he is on his way! He comes running, on schedule, for his food and nightly treats and even allows his foster mom to pick him up (he may not stay for very long…but he’s not opposed!). Loving a good pet, Charlie has made himself at home in his foster home and likes to be around where he can get some loving and some playing. Laser toys, stick toys and the infamous Cat Dancer are some of his favorite pastimes. But nothing beats playtime with his foster brother! These two met when Charlie arrived at the foster home and, after a brief “get to know you” period, developed a routine with one another that is cartoon-worthy. Charlie is the much more outgoing of the two but he has helped his foster brother begin to trust humans and enjoy life on the inside. They can be seen (and heard) playing during the night and snuggling together in their cat tree during the day. They are both avid nature watchers, sitting at the window or their custom catio, to watch the birds and squirrels outside. Charlie has no interest in being outside, though, having quickly realized life is sooooooo much better when you are cared for indoors! Charlie even has a funny dynamic with his foster family’s dog – he is a fully “fur-friendly” kind of guy! For all these reasons, Charlie feels (and we totally agree) that he is looking for a calm and quiet forever home with a patient human (or humans) and at least one feline sibling who is looking for a friend. He will need some time to continue to fully understand the inner workings of this “indoor life” but he has already shown he is here for it and is a quick learner!

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out our online adoption application by copying and pasting the link below:
http://thecatconnection.org/adopt/adoption-application/
You will get a quicker response doing this rather than emailing us.

Also please consider fostering as an alternative to adoption: http://thecatconnection.org/get-involved/foster/

We request $100 for each cat 10 and over, $150 for each cat 5-10 years old, $200 for each cat 1-4 years old, and $225 for each kitten under a year old. These fees fund neutering, vaccinations, and combo testing (feline leukemia and FIV) for your adopted cat, rescue efforts, shelter, and veterinary care. Our policy is to adopt kittens in pairs. We find that kittens are much happier when they have a companion and they tend to expend their youthful energy on each other rather than on your couch! Kittens are adorable, but older cats can be wonderful pets as well and they tend to be overlooked, so please consider adopting an adult cat or two!

The Cat Connection is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3)organization of volunteers who rescue homeless cats. To find out more about us, please visit our web site: http://thecatconnection.org/
