History
Two sister cats were living on the street in a high risk area with their friends. We were planning to rescue them but things didn’t go quite as planned. Looking for the 2 girls--only 1 was found. Kuwaiti boys were playing a deadly game where they were trying to kill the cats by running them over with cars! 1 sister didn't escape and lost her life that day. (RIP sweet girl; we are so sorry humanity failed you so badly). 1y Cecelia came running when she saw her rescuers and was so grateful and happy in her foster home, jumping from one bed to the other, purring all the time. She is the sweetest, most trusting girl despite her hard life. Please apply if you have a welcoming cat for her to come home to. NYC

All our cats are in the NY area and can be adopted out of state. We do like to meet you so plan on picking up; if flying, in cabin only; in some cases we will help with transport.

Please note: kittens MUST be adopted in pairs or to households with age appropriate cat(s) to ensure proper socialization and companionship. NO exceptions! If you would prefer a solo cat, we are happy to recommend cats who would do best as solos. Cats are spayed/neutered, FIV/Felv tested, FVRCP and Rabies vaxed, and microchipped.

Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at cats@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application by Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too. Please come! And if you can't adopt, you can perhaps foster, volunteer, and of course, you can always donate!
