Catalina #sister-of-Purscilla's Story

ADVENTUROUS EXPLORER
DOB 4/10/24
Hey there, everyone! I’m Catalina, a very sweet, affectionate, and friendly white little girl with golden eyes. I absolutely love hoomans, and I’m not shy about requesting for them to pet me as well as give me treats. In fact, I’m very vocal and will let Foster Meowmy know when she hasn’t scratched just the right spot on my anatomy.
I may be smaller than my sister, but I’m definitely the braver of the pair! I was the first one to wobble out of our “nest” as well as to venture out of our nursery to explore my world. My favorite activities are playing hide-and-seek, bird-watching, and exploring like Marco Polo did.
My feral momma Clawdia chose to birth my sister Purscilla and me in the safety of the patio of an apartment unit that had been vacant for a long time. Was it a mere coincidence that our future Foster Meowmy moved in one or two days later? She’s quite a cat advocate, so thankfully she scooped up newborn Purscilla and me as well as trapped Momma in order to bring us all inside to safety.
When Meowmy took us to the vet to get vaccinated and spayed, all three of us tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). Meowmy assumes that Momma probably contracted FIV from a deep bite wound from an intact male cat and then passed it on to us before we were ever born. (Unlike Feline Leukemia, FIV is NOT passed on 'casually' by sharing food bowls and litter boxes with other household cats.) Being FIV positive means that I should live an average life span as long as my dental health is routinely monitored and prompt attention is given to any urinary-tract or upper-respiratory infections.
Now I’m ready to find my forever home. If you’re looking for a beautiful yet adventurous pure white kitty, I’m the gal for you! I hope that my being a “special-needs” kitty will not scare you off; in fact, perhaps you’re one of those benevolent souls who actually seeks out a 'special' kitty whom others might pass over. All the more reason for me to love you!
Although we’re available separately, Purscilla and I think it’d be the cat’s meow if we could be adopted together. Two’s more fun than one, and we could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation. Arrange to meet me [us] today!
HOPE ID 24-0507-C038
Catalina's $125 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for FIV/FeLV, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment against fleas and parasites.
To apply online: http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/cat-adoption.php
If you have questions prior to filling out the application or want to find out which adoption site Catalina's will be this weekend, email us at nancy.e.kline@hotmail.com, and a volunteer will get back to you.
