Meet Carter

Carter came into our shelter at the beginning of January 2021, after being found in frigid temperatures with bite wounds on both front legs. After his first veterinary visit, it was apparent that he had a heart murmur. With ultrasound and other testing, a cardiologist diagnosed Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy.

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is a genetic condition that may or may not progress over time. Carter will require an annual cardiac ultrasound, but (per cardiologist and radiologist) but does not need medication at this time.

Carter is about 3-4 years old. He is neutered, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Carter is the sweetest boy and would love a forever home. He loves other cats, but is frightened by dogs. He would do fine with older children (8+).
