Meet Cameron

Cameron is a rescue from a TNR (trap, neuter return) project we were working on. Cameron is now approximately 11 months old and has been in a foster home since he was about 7 weeks old. Cameron a sweet boy that is unsure at first, but when given time and assurance he is safe, he is learning to trust. He will need a patient home that is willing to accept that at first he may seek a hiding place until he feels secure enough to interact with his new human. Proper introductions to both a new home, owners and to other furry friends is an investment to making a happy home for all.

Cameron is looking for a special home where his new family understands that he can only pet or picked up when he feels comfortable. In his current foster home, he loves to hang on the bed with the other cats and when he is on the bed, he allows his foster mom to pet him and even pick him up for some cuddles. When he is anywhere else in the house, he will get very close to you, but will run if you try and pet him or pick him up. Cameron loves playing with toys, especially wand toys and loves yogurt and will lick if off your finger. He also loves Temptations treats and will take them out of your fingers once he trusts you. But that is as far as he's willing to go right now and needs someone patient and understanding of this who will work with him, a quieter household would probably work best. He has not been around dogs since he was a small kitten, but we suspect he would do fine with them with a slow introduction. He meets a lot of different cat/kittens in his foster home and has gotten along great with all of them, so if you are looking for a companion for your current kitty or kitties, Cameron might be a great match.

Please keep in mind the commitment when adopting kitten(s) as the the typical lifespan ranges somewhere between 13 and 17 years, according to the ASPCA. However, it isn't uncommon for indoor cats to live to at least 20+ years.
If you are interested in meeting Cameron submit an application and a representative with Operation Hood will contact you to set up a time for a meet and greet. By submitting an application, it does not obligate you to adopt it simply allows us to get to know the potential adopter better.
