Meet Callista

Hi my name is Callista and I am a female, shorthaired, spotted tabby mix kitten. I was born on 01/27/2021. I look like a Bengal or Ocicat because I have a long narrow face with long legs like a wild Serval - just like my mother Calyx, except I have white paws. I was owner surrender to the shelter. My owners did not get my mom spayed or vaccinated. I come from a litter of 6 kittens and my momma tried to take care of us. We got deathly sick and my owners took us to the shelter instead of a vet because they could not afford to veterinary care. I had a common virus that could have been prevented if momma and us babies were vaccinated. This virus gave us an upper respiratory infection along with ulcers in our mouths and throats. We could not eat. It is a very contagious virus and not many rescues wanted to take us. We ended up in foster care at Small Lives Matter Kitten Rescue. My foster mom gave us medicine to ease our pain, so we could all eat again. Momma was in scary shape and we were not sure if she was going to be ok. All the fur on momma's front legs and chest had fallen off due to her drooling. She was exhausted. But our foster hero mom got momma eating again and she started getting more energy. She started cleaning us and playing with us! We were all so happy to have momma feeling well again!

That was weeks and weeks ago! We are now healthy and having lots of fun at Frisky Cat Cafe. We are energetic, sweet and cuddly. We settled in at the cafe very easily. Here is what my foster mom say about me -

"Callista is a sweet kitten who acts like her sister Calypso. She is very smart and into everything. She is energetic and loves to hunt and climb. She has made friends with the other kittens in the cafe and plays chase endlessly. She is friendly and a lot of fun. She has beautiful leopard spots."

Calyx and her six kittens are available for adoption at the Frisky Cat Cafe in St Augustine. 1092 Ponce De Leon Blvd (US 1). Stop in for a visit. If interested, please complete and adoption application at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SLMR/Cat.
