Meet Butterball

Butterball came to ADOPT in July of 2019 from another shelter. He was born about 2014.

Ever since we were kittens, my brother, Seth, and I lived together in a small room. Our human mom had many cats, possibly over forty. Even though there were so many of us, she managed to make sure we were well fed and loved. When she suddenly became very ill, things went down hill very fast.

Most of the other cats moved to other shelters but a few of us remained at the house. A lady came to feed us a couple times a week but that was all the human contact we had.

Things got really rough for some of the other cats as they were invaded by fleas. Fortunately my brother and I were able to avoid that as we were in a separate room.

After being in our own little room for so many years, it was really terrifying when we came to ADOPT. The staff here were surprised to find that, even as frightened as we were, we did not have a single mean bone in our little bodies.

It has taken us a while, but we have learned that there is a wonderful world out there waiting to be explored. We do so love to be petted but please go slow.

We would love to move to a nice quiet house together. In spite of our rough beginning we are both in good health. We would probably do better in a home with older children, fourteen and up. I don't think we are ready to meet dogs though.

Please take a minute to get to know us. I think you will be happy you did.
