Buddy! Sweet, Special Needs Boy! Domestic Short Hair Meriden, CT

Meet our super sweet, special needs senior boy named Buddy! Buddy is about 12 years old and he is a very friendly cat. He was surrendered to us after his owner had to be moved into a long term care facility, and no family members were able to care for him. Buddy is a really great cat who likes to get attention, but can also be by himself. He is not really a lap cat and doesn't seem to like to be up off the ground, but he will sit by you all day to be pet. Buddy is diabetic. He will require 2 injections of insulin a day to keep this under control. Buddy is great for his injections and doesn't seem to mind them at all. He likes cat nip and will roll around with a toy to play. Buddy did live with another male cat for his whole life, so we believe he would be ok in a home with other cats. He may be alright with a very calm, cat friendly dog. Buddy can go to a home with kids 10 years old and older.

You must be 21 years of age to adopt with valid ID. There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home, or you own a condo, we must speak with your landlord or housing association giving permission to dogs/cats. Bully breed specific permission is required if you rent or own a condo. If you own your home, proof of home ownership is required. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal.
Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal.

ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED AND NEUTERED BEFORE THEY GO HOME.
