Meet Black Bear

Nobody likes being labeled. Especially when those labels seem to turn people against you. They don’t define who you are, and nobody knows that better than Black Bear. FIV+ and diabetic, this boy knows better than anyone what it’s like to be dismissed without a second glance.

Black Bear is a love machine. He’s a shy boy but he loves his people and wants nothing more than to be pressed right up against them whenever he gets the chance.

You want a cat you can hold? Black Bear will make biscuits on your arm like he was born to be there.
You want a cat who enjoys belly rubs? Black Bear rolls over onto his back and waits for them, purring like a motorboat.
If you want a cat whose loyalty and love for you knows no bounds - Black Bear is your man.

Now, FIV+ and diabetic - what does that mean exactly for this bundle of affection? FIV is an immune deficiency that sounds more frightening than it is. Black Bear is a healthy and happy cat with a long life ahead of him. As a diabetic, Black Bear receives an insulin injection in the morning and at night for treatment (he does very well for both, you’d think he didn’t even know you were doing it.)
