Meet Binx

Binx is a 4-year-old, cuddly purr machine looking for her forever home!

This sweet, affectionate girl loves being close to her people—curled up near them, resting her paws on their legs, even cuddling on their chests so she can give them exfoliating face rubs.

The most important thing for Binx’s future family is to help this beautiful girl to feel relaxed. She has had hyperesthesia since she was young—this is a minor, treatable condition where anxiety can cause a cat to have heightened sensitivity in certain areas of her skin. In Binx’s case, it is her back. She takes gabapentin twice a day (served with a treat, which she makes sure you don’t forget) to ease any back twitching and to help keep her calm.

Binks greets the sun early in the morning (she’ll alert you if she feels her breakfast service is a wee bit late in arriving), then naps like a champ throughout the day. While sleeping, Binx will sometimes briefly wake up meowing, before going back to sleep again. Once she is happily back to Slumberville, she will treat you to her adorable purr-snores.

Her main playtime is in the late afternoon and evening, when she enjoys looking out the window to keep an eye on the birds, chasing spring toys or balls, and zooming around to perfect her sprinting technique. Binx is a very intelligent girl, and will open the door to explore all your cabinets and closets. (Best to keep anything not suitable for her exploration out of reach.)

Although she’s not a fan of being picked up, Binx loves to be petted and brushed. Binx would do best as an only cat. (She has never been around dogs.) Her ideal forever home would be a calm, low-stress place with doting, attentive adults or older children who are home a lot to return the love she gives so freely, and to keep her from being lonely.

Binx has had a few transitions in her previous life, and is so ready to share her sweet face and very big heart with the right people. If you can offer Binx the oasis of peace she is seeking, she is purring and happy to join you.
