Billie and Bean came from a ‘backyard colony’ and were rescued to give them a better life. The boys can be very shy to start, but friendly once you get to know them and vice versa. Their experience surviving outdoors when they were kittens may have impressed upon them the instinctive and skittish wariness so common with cats who have had to fend for themselves, and the initial hissing that may happen are merely defensive responses, without aggression or ill intent, and will diminish given time and space to settle down. Slow approaches and available safe spots that are not too secluded or inaccessible, would be ideal to put them at ease.

Billie is a quiet, observant and sweet black cat who has been making lots of progress, coming out and engaging with the people in his space. Though he may be timid at first and needs a little time to warm up to new people, once he feels comfortable, his playful side shines through. Billie loves to spend his time perched by windows watching the outside world. But he is also very curious and super playful, and loves to explore places and play with wand toys. He has a sinus issue that causes some sneezing despite a few rounds of antibiotics. He hasn't let this slow him down, especially when he’s in the mood to play.

Billie has a great appetite and may try to help Bean finish his meals, so they should be monitored while eating so Bean also gets enough wet food and treats (Greenies are their favourite!). They also enjoy drinking water out of the water fountain, so please consider having one for them!

Billie and Bean are bonded through life circumstances and depend on each other to feel secure. They would do best in a patient, calm home where they can gradually settle in and show off their quietly sweet and playful personality.

Adoption fees are $250 for each adult cat 1 year or older. Please note that fees may apply for additional required vaccinations (at $75 per booster) due prior to adoption. Total adoption fees will be confirmed by the AVA Adoption Coordinator.
