Meet BIG TOM
Being a 6-year-old community cat was not something BIG TOM (A388740) planned on, but oh what a life he has had. Just look at those soulful eyes and tattered ears. This Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) positive kitty must be INDOORS ONLY and the ONLY CAT in his new home. This is a type of virus that typically causes some weakening of the cat's immune system, requiring regular preventative vet care. It only affects cats and cannot be spread to dogs or humans. Information is available at the shelter on FIV. Since BIG TOM can easily get overstimulated, a home with adults only or older children would be best. He enjoys gentle petting on his terms. Cat treats are his favorite snack, but watch your fingers as he can nibble them when he grabs his treats. Don't shy away from this kitty because he is FIV positive. FIV cats can live quite normal lives in quality, duration, and happiness. Do you have the time, patience, and love to give this big fella a wonderful new fur-ever home? If so, please come adopt him today. For more information and to set up an appointment to BIG TOM, please call the Jackson County Animal Shelter at 541-774-6654. The adoption fee Big Tom has been prepaid by a generous donor!
