Meet Big Mama
Big Mama (“Bebe” - she's not as big anymore!) is a beautiful, 12-year-old tortoiseshell who will steal your heart!
A feather toy skittering across the floor or flying through the air will grab her attention quickly, and she’ll bolt after and bat at it like the mighty hunter that she is. She loves sitting on the windowsill watching and hearing the birds and other wildlife outside - it’s the best Cat TV! She has also allowed a harness to be fitted on her - we haven’t tried walking with it yet, but she has shown interest in the hallway and may learn to go on short walks with it.
Being near her humans is one of her favorite things, and she’ll follow them around the house to keep them company. When she really warms up to you, she may even take to lying on your chest if you’re winding down for bed. It’s an adorable and cozy expression of her love. While she may take a short time to get used to her new humans, seeing her melt into a puddle every time she gets ear scritches (one of her favorite things!) is well worth the wait. She also loves a good chest rub.
Bebe could potentially live with another calm and relaxed animal, as long as there is a slow, careful introduction. She has never scratched at the furniture and uses her horizontal cardboard scratcher daily. She has also never displayed any marking behaviors. She may occasionally make a quick gentle swipe at your hand if she hasn’t been played with in a while, but this is not out of aggression - she just really wants to play!
Older cats frequently get overlooked since it’s assumed that they won’t be as interactive or engaged, but Bebe loves a good play session, and will be a faithful companion to you for years to come!

All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption.
