Sidney & Berry: 8-1/2 year old as of April 2022.

Berry and Sidney's mother was a stray in Waterloo, Iowa, back in 2013. We took her in and she had Berry and Sidney Sept. 6th, 2013. They were adopted as 3 months old kittens in Dec. 2013. They were recently returned because: "we've decided our family isn't ready for pets right now." So Berry and Sidney are back into a foster home. They are up to date on shots, tested FeLV / FIV negative, spayed / neutered.

Berry is female and Sidney is male. They were very scared and first. You would be too of you just lost the only home you have ever known. After several days, TPC, soft talking, and yummy food they started to come around. Both are now very friendly. They love to be petted. They seek out attention and affection. Sometimes they get startled with a loud noise or something, but that is to be expected as they settle into a new place to live. Too soon to introduce them to others cats, but will in time and then will update this profile. Both are very easy going cats. They do enjoy playing, especially with a feather wand.

They are very bonded to each other. We are going to require that they get adopted into the same home together. They have been through enough with losing their home. Not going to make them lose each other too.

1/10/18 UPDATE: Berry and Sidney are the sweetest cats ever! They are outgoing now and doing great. I imagine in a new home they will start off a little scared again, but won't take long to warm up to a new family. Really need someone that plans to keep them for the rest of their lives. Both kitties ar every loving and affectionate. They are also curious and like to explore when they are not napping.

1/27/20 UPDATE: Berry and Sidney are awesome cats! And they do well with older children and other cats!

Will someone please adopt Berry and Sidney give them a true forever home? $95.00 each adoption fee for a total of $190 for both cats.

WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. If you have assault, domestic abuse, or drug charges please do not apply. If you have questions, please send an email to waverlypetrescue@mchsi.com

All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $200 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office.
