*****FIV stands for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. It is NOT the same as human immunodeficiency virus, or HIV.
I repeat: FIV is not the same as HIV.
Humans cannot contract FIV from me.
Dogs cannot contract FIV from me.
In order for another cat to contract FIV from me, a deep puncture wound bite would be necessary. I am not like that - I am not aggressive. Likewise, I would not go home to an aggressive cat who would be tempted to fight with me.

This is what I ask of you in light of my FIV+ status:
Keep me indoors and away from any aggressive cats who are easily threatened or likely to engage in vicious fighting and biting behavior.
Get to know me and my normal behavior well enough so that you'll be able to tell if I don't feel well.
Establish a good, communicative relationship with a veterinarian who is well educated about FIV and bring me for a visit if ever I'm not feeling well. The "I" stands for immunodeficiency, which means that I'll depend on your to treat any infections quickly before they have a chance to get out of control.
That's all I ask. I know you would do those same things for any feline friend you brought into your life.

Bernice is a stunning 1.5 year old Dilute Calico who was Surrendered along with daughter, Becca when their owner could no longer care for them.

Bernice is a quiet and very affectionate gal with a cut little nub of a tail. She is hoping for an open minded and loving home that can look past the FIV and see what an amazing cat she is!!!

Bernice is current on all vaccines, spayed and microchipped. Tested for FIV/FLV.
