The source of the cancer has been removed (hence the singular eye), but there are some cancerous cells in the remaining tissue. Eventually it will spread to his abdomen. Meet Benny - Pending Adoption

Benny is an 8 year old, affectionate, loving kitty looking for his forever home!

Benny is the world's best snuggler! He is extremely affectionate and will climb up onto your lap and chest so he can nuzzle into your chin. He loves to give you little kisses on your nose.

At night you will find him sleeping on your pillow with his head pressed up against yours. Benny has not met a person he does not like and is sweet with strangers and kids.

Benny spends most of the day napping and perks up for short strolls around the house, out onto the "catio", or to his food dish. He loves his food and thinks wet food is the best! Benny is a calm and relaxed kitty who just wants a forever home to love him. He doesn't play much and prefers to chill on the couch most of the day.

Benny came into foster care with an injured eye that could not be saved. When it was surgically removed, a biopsy of the eye showed Iris melanoma. Luckily the source of the cancer has been removed, but there are some cancerous cells in the remaining tissue. Eventually it will spread to his abdomen. It is hard to know how quickly that could happen and we hope he has many years ahead of him still. Benny was found to have lower than normally seen rapidly dividing cells for a cat with this cancer, which is wonderful!

Benny currently lives in a foster home with other cats, dogs, and children. He is comfortable around dogs as long as they leave him alone and enjoys friendly cats.

Benny's ideal home is a calmer home that will provide him with tons of affection and love. He wants a forever home where his people will snuggle and cuddle him and give him the best years of his life.

There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best estimate.

Adoption fees include a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.

All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption.
