Meet Benjamin

Benjamin is an adorable, friendly, sweet short-haired orange tabby. Benjamin is just a baby (about 3.5 months old) and is looking for a forever home with his brother, Thomas. Thomas and Benjamin’s mom was a feral cat who
started taking food from their foster’s garage. It was apparent she was lactating and had kittens

so it was a waiting game.
On July 4th, she brought Thomas and Benjamin to eat. So the two were named after two of our founding fathers and trapped. Initially terrified of people as they had never even seen one, they have made amazing progress in the last month. Benjamin is the introvert of the two. He’s worried about the big world around him but gets more comfortable daily. He’s been about a week behind Thomas but now enjoys being pet and purrs and kneads. Ben gets a bit nervous being held but is getting more comfortable. He now enjoys playing especially with niko flies or feathers on a string. Benjamin loves his wet food. Thomas and Benjamin will need a cat-experienced adopter who can be patient with them. They will do better if initially started out in a room to help them feel safe while they get to know you. They will require several daily interactions to get used to their new people and lives. Secrets to winning Benjamin over include tuna (just as a treat and positive reinforcement for coming up to you), feed his wet food out of your hand, cheek and chin scratches, bugs or feathers on a string. Benjamin and Thomas are looking for a quiet home. They would be fine with a mellow friendly cat or dog with a slow introduction. These boys are special but need someone willing to give them the time they need so they can reach their potential due to their hard start in life. Are you that person? Benjamin will be neutered, up to date on vaccinations, tested for FELV/FIV, microchipped, deflead and dewormed prior to adoption.
The adoption fee for both boys is just $200 (bonded pairs are usually $245 but these boys have a sponsor helping them)
and allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community.
