Ben and Poe are sweet kittens born around April 13 who came from the outdoors and have adapted to life indoors very well. They are litter trained, curious, and like attention from people. They love to play together until they are tired and then curl up in a lap for a nap. Ben is missing some fur from his tail, but the vet says that whatever injury caused this happened before he was rescued and has not left any lasting damage. Poe has a mild tremor in his neck that causes his head to shake especially when he is holding his head low as he does for eating. When he is holding his head to look up high, the tremor is not noticeable. Our vet examined Poe and most likely he has very mild cerebellar hypoplasia (CH). Poe runs and jumps and climbs with as much energy and coordination as his brother so we suspect there are no other neuro-motor concerns.

We would love for these two boys to be adopted together but it's not a requirement. They will be neutered on Monday June 29 so available for placement after that. Poe and Ben live in a foster home with a dog (though they do not interact with him) so they are used to hearing barking.

All of our cats and kittens are rescues. They are mixed breed unless otherwise noted. If a cat or kitten is tagged as a particular breed we do not have papers to verify the breed information. We assign breeds to our cats and kittens based on similar appearance, size, and temperament as described in the breed description of a purebred cat.

ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION: Cats R Us is a not for profit, 501(c)(3) cat rescue group that operates two small shelters and a foster home program in the Annapolis, Maryland area. Our main focus is TNvR-M (Trap, Neuter, vaccinate, Return and Monitor) of community cats but we also have tame cats and kittens available for adoption. All of our adoptable cats and kittens are found as strays. We are a NO KILL facility and our cats will stay with us as long as it takes for them to find their forever home. Our adoption fee is $120.00 for kittens under 1 year (2 for $200), $100 for cats over 1 year (2 for $180), and $150 - $250 for exotic breed cats or kittens. The adoption fee helps our rescue cover the cost of all initial vet work including a wellness exam, spay or neuter, vaccinations, tested negative for FeLV and FIV (unless otherwise noted), treated for parasites (fleas, ticks, intestinal worms, ear mites), and microchipped.
