Beatrice is a super affectionate 3-year-old cat looking for her forever home.

Beatrice loves her humans. She runs to the door to greet them when they come home and insists on immediate pets and cuddle time. She loves to sit on your lap and will spend her time on or next to you at the computer or on the couch. She has incredibly soft fur and loves to be brushed. She lets her humans hold her in any position, so clipping her claws is a breeze. She has the cutest pink nose.

Beatrice loves to watch the world from the safety of her window. She gets excited when birds are in the yard. Overall, she is very calm. Occasionally she chases a toy (especially if it has a bell) or a hair binder. She loves to explore the house and has been found on top of the fridge! Most of the time, though, she is happy to just lounge in different parts of the house.

Beatrice had inappropriate urination in her previous home (she was likely stressed by the presence of a resident dog, another resident cat, and a newborn baby) and occasionally in foster care. Her foster family has happily determined what works for her, though, and she has not had accidents in 3 months. She currently takes 2.5 mg of Fluoxetine (Prozac) every other day with her wet food and prefers daily cleaning of her litter boxes (although she has been OK for 3 days without cleaning). When on her medication, she uses normal, large and enclosed litter boxes and is not picky about her litter. She uses clumping litter, Target brand or Tidy Cats with no problems. Her forever family should be aware that accidents may happen even while Beatrice is on her medication (she may be especially vulnerable during transition periods), but that providing a low-stress environment, continuing her medication, and keeping multiple clean litter boxes should solidify her current good habits.

Beatrice currently lives in a house with two adults. She would do best in a quiet home without other pets and kids. She is OK with occasional visits from other people and dogs—in foster care, she has been happy to meet new people, teenage kids and a calm dog. She hisses at cats outside the window. She happily and fearlessly comes up to visitors to greet them.

All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption.
