Baxter can be held for a bit but does not like it after a long period. Right now he doesn't like to be brushed, except on his face and neck, but since he is a long hair cat he will need someone who can work with him to eventually enjoy brushing. Currently, he is partially shaved on his hindquarters due to coat matting. He likes his alone time - catching a nap on the bed is not an invitation to pet. But he is a very affectionate lap kitty and rather vocal.
Baxters was an indoor/outdoor cat, so enjoys a look at the outside. He is a proven mouse hunter but doesn't engage in much play. Don't let his lack of play fool you, he is quite the agile cat and like most cats get the zoomies.
Baxter loves when his foster parent comes home from work. He enjoys a chill evening on the couch sitting in his foster's lap. Baxter usually sleeps with his foster in bed, will climb on top of his when Baxter decides it's time to get up.
Baxter has some problems with eating. He is more comfortable eating when someone sits with him. He is going to need someone who is patient and helps him get back his appetite. His front claws have been removed, so if he needs to get a point across, he will lightly nip/bite. He has never bitten hard enough to break the skin.
Baxter is currently in a house with his foster and no other pets. We think he would benefit from someone that is home full time. He would probably do best in a house with no other pets or children.
There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best estimate.
