Baxter Domestic Short Hair & Norwegian Forest Cat Mix Minneapolis, MN

Baxter is a 10-year-old front paw declawed, domestic long -haired cat looking for a home that mixes a calm atmosphere, a great view, and the companionable dinner partner in the recipe for his perfect home.

Baxter’s favorite hobby is being able to peer out the window to check out any gossip that is fresh out the oven, whether a neighbor plowing their driveway, a squirrel gathering provisions or a car driving out of the neighborhood. After his timer dings on his neighborhood watch, Baxter will get the zoomies around the kitchen, the hallway, or the living room chasing the invisible dust motes or weak shadows that are rolling into his line of vision.

At dinnertime, he will only eat with a dining partner, needing a companion to witness his meal. After getting his energy out, and some time to trust his human, Baxter is ready to chill on their lap or knead the blanket and let out a meow to encourage the stroke of a hand or a chin scratch.

Baxter has improvised when trying to get his message across, with the absence of front claws, he will substitute a light nip/bite to show his displeasure, but he has never bit hard enough to break skin. Baxter currently is living as the only pet in the home, and will need to continue to live as an only pet to fully rise to his potential.

Baxter is currently in a house with his foster and no other pets. We think he would benefit from someone that is home full time. He would probably do best in a house with no other pets or children. Baxter needs a stable calm environment where he can thrive and be his best self. When he is in the place Baxter shines! He is a big sweetheart full of love, purrs, lap cuddles, and loyalty. He bonds deeply so we want his next home to be forever.

All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow-up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption.
