Meet Bartlett

Bartlett is a super sweet and loving 4-5 year old guy looking for a furever home! He was at a shelter we partner with, but with his diagnosis for some reason no one was wanting to take him home, we aren't sure why because he's one of the sweetest guys we know!!!

Let's talk a little more about FIV!!!

FIV cats live normal lives, with other cats in the home too! FIV stands for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. That just means cats like Bartlett have a lower immune system, and could get sick easier, similar to many conditions humans have too that affect our immune systems too.

FIV is *not* contagious to your other cats in the home except via very aggressive blood-drawing bite wounds, so most FIV+ cats can live safely with FIV- cats. Bartlett isn't agressive at all so we can't see him getting like that! Cats who are FIV+ also tend to live very normal and long happy lives, FIV alone is not shown to shorten their life or their quality of life!!
