Meet Baja

BAJA is a pretty little 3 ½ month old brown tabby female kitten. She and her sister Bosa were found as scared tiny kittens on a farm, and have thrived in a loving foster home. Baja is an independent girl, and is cautious with both her human and animal friends – but she is very loving once she lets her guard down. She’s not timid, but likes to interact with people on her own terms. She is calm when picked up, but prefers not to be handled and will avoid it if she can. Baja is happy to be near people and to play with them -- she loves anything dangling from a stick, or chasing a laser. When she is resting, she likes to be patted and stroked at the base of her tail – and will purr mightily. But she’d prefer you not grab for her, or restrain her. She’s not mean or frightened, just wants to have things her way. Baja would do best in a home with people who will give her lots of space and be patient with her. She bonds slowly, and is likely to become devoted to one person in the household rather than with everyone. A home with quiet and respectful adults, and possibly an older child, would be best. She might get along with other cats, but it is likely she’ll want to be in charge, especially as she matures. She could probably hold her own with a cat-savvy dog. Bosa has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet exam.
