When we rescued her, Australorp started out as the most frightened of her siblings, I was hardly ever able to pet her until one day when she discovered the joys of butt scratches! Since that day she has been hooked on love! She will do elevator butt so high that I think she’ll tip herself over.

She loves to wrestle her siblings and usually comes out on top. Any toy that jingles, rolls, springs, or moves is her favorite and she’s not afraid to steal the ones her siblings are playing with. She’s a very long, sleek cat who would probably look like a twig if she wasn’t half made of hair. She now loves all kinds of attention and is one of the first to greet me at the door and climb onto my lap.

She will be shy and timid with new people and loud noises and will need a family willing to give her the time and patience to get familiar with and comfortable in a new place.

We always recommend adopting two kittens rather than one, and Australorp has a wonderful matching brother named Orpington! They look nearly identical!
