Meet Atticus

Atticus' owner died, and the man's widow had to sell their home to pay his medical expenses. Under these circumstances, she was not able to keep her husband's beloved cat, so he was surrendered to Paws Animal Shelter. He was adopted in 2022, but he was sadly returned to us a year later as his owners said he always seemed very nervous around their other cat, and he developed issues with the litter box. He has not had any issues since he was returned to us, and he's in a free-roaming adult cat room with 19 other cats, so it's very odd. Perhaps they used a scented litter, which many cats don't like and won't use. Since he can't talk, we'll probably never know what the problem was. We're just glad that he's doing well now. He's very sweet and affectionate!
