Ash, born 9/19/2022, is a pretty confident, one might even say pushy, kitty who spent some time in a foster home, where he got terrific socialization, but sometimes could be a bit of a bully toward the other cats. The bravest resident cat had no problem standing up to Ash, but the others were sent running for cover whenever Ash decided it was HIS turn to play with the toy or snuggle with the humans. He would likely do well as an only cat, though could probably learn to cohabitate with a cat-friendly dog. He does cohabitate well with the other cats in his cat room at the shelter, so we think he is learning proper manners and could potentially do OK with another cat as well, but you'd want to do slow introductions and give each their own personal "human interaction time."
Ash has a chronic "weepy eye" (usually the result of a prior viral infection) He is FeLV/FIV NEGATIVE and has no other symptoms, so the eye issue is not at all life-threatening. It comes and goes, and is likely to recur from time to time throughout his life.
He's a happy, playful boy who would do well as an indoor-only or indoor/outdoor kitty.

All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Ash is a suggested minimum of SPONSORED (pay what you like) (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts.
Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
