Artemis's Story

***Artemis was found wandering alone in a park by a kind person, and began her journey to find a home where she can settle at last to love and cuddle her people. She will be fine as a single pet, or she can live quite peaceably with other mature, friendly cats,

Meet Artemis, a gentle and affectionate older lady who is ready to spend her golden years in a loving forever home. At around 10 years old, Artemis is the definition of a cuddle bug — she absolutely lives for quiet snuggles and quality time with her humans. She’ll happily curl up beside you on the couch or nestle into your arms for a cozy nap.

Artemis is a larger cat with a big heart to match. Because of her size and age, she needs a bit of help with personal grooming of the backside until she loses some weight. She has only started to show interest in kibbles, but mainly eats wet food. She also needs some ongoing help to get her skin and coat back into optimal condition as she was rescued with very thin fur and a poor quality coat. As her blood work was excellent and revealed no answers about why her coat and skin are the way they are, her fosters have been doting on her with regular brushing and some help from Burt's Bees to help her look and feel her best. She’s incredibly tolerant and grateful for the care, and the time spent brushing her often turns into a bonding moment filled with happy purrs. Her condition is already improving after only a few weeks!

This sweet senior girl would thrive in a calm, quiet home where she can enjoy a soft bed, some gentle affection, and lots of love. She is not much into playing, and although she lives with other foster cats of various ages in the home, she had no issues getting along with them. However, she is more interested in snuggling with her humans than engaging with other cats, so can be a solo princess or coexist with other mature cats in her new home.

Artemis has so much to give — and she’s hoping for someone who sees just how special a senior cat can be. If you're looking for a calm, loving companion who will return your kindness tenfold, Artemis is ready to meet you.

Would you like to make Artemis a part of your family? Please complete our online application found at: https://www.avacats.org/adoption-application-form.

Our adoption fees cover vetting and include spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines (initial FVRCP and rabies), flea treatment, two dewormings and microchipping.

Adoption fees are $200 for senior cat 10 year or older. Final adoption fees will be confirmed by the AVA Adoption Coordinator.
