Meet Arlyn
Arlyn is quite the darlin’! She loves to spend her days lounging around just relaxing at home. You always know how happy Arlyn is because of her loud purring. She is super friendly and enjoys spending quality couch time while being pet.
Arlyn may be 11, but you wouldn’t know it if you met her. She has bursts of energy where she loves to chase toys and laser pointers. They say “you can’t teach and old (cat) new tricks”, but with Arlyn this isn’t the case. Arlyn is one smart cookie! She currently knows how to sit, spin and do paw. I am sure with some persuasion and patience she could learn a few other tricks as well. She also loves to do puzzles for treats. She is definitely food motivated and will look at you with those big “puppy dog” eyes and some extra pawing especially when you are chowing down on Chinese food or anything involving dairy. It’s taken some serious restraint on her current foster moms part to not give it to Arlyn’s adorable face though! Arlyn only has a couple of her teeth left, but this does not stop her from trying to enjoy any food she can get her paws on.
Arlyn would do best in a home where she is the one and only cat/pet around. She has become accustomed to her only child lifestyle in this sense. However we are unsure how she would do with young human children. Older children who respect her boundaries and just give her some love should be perfectly fine though!
**Arlyn is FeLV/FIV negative, microchipped, dewormed, flea treated, spayed, and vaccinated against FVRCP and Rabies. She was diagnosed with a heart murmur and has had an echocardiogram done. Although she has some mild changes to her heart's function, she is compensating well for those changes and no treatment is necessary. She has had extensive bloodwork and urine testing done as well with only a mild elevation in her thyroid levels (all else was normal). Her vet recommends rechecking her thyroid levels in a few months and is not concerned at this time, as Arlyn is doing well and is not showing signs of thyroid disease.**
