Anna came from an extreme hoarding case of over 80 cats in the home over in Frederika, Iowa. Waverly Pet Rescue was able to help with 4 cats and on August 1st, 2024 we took in Anna. She is now up to date on vaccines, tested FeLV/FIV negative, and spayed.
Anna is about 1-1/2 years old as of January 2025. We let Anna be in a foster home for a couple of months before trying to adopt her out. She lived in a cage her whole life over in the hoarder home.
Anna is a very loving girl who enjoys lots of pets and cuddles and has such a beautiful color and pattern to her fur! She gets along with other cats nicely and tries to be friends. Anna tolerates being around children but tends to run from them if they walk up to her. Anna has a favorite spot to lay which is in a cat bed on top of a towel rack so she would absolutely love a cat tree! Anna is quite vocal with her meows and chirps. She definitely lets you know she enjoys your pets and cuddles!
She is a beautiful cat and could blossom in the right home and after more time, she could come out of her shell even more. She is learning to trust and be in a home which is not easy for a cat that was confined to a small cage her whole life. We are hoping someone with patience finds it in their heart to give Anna quiet and loving home.
11/19/24 UPDATE: Anna is such a sweet and loving lap kitty now! She's also doing quite well around the dogs and stands up for herself if she needs to. She's still a little unsure and scared about kid's hands. She's loving and cuddles on a lap multiple times a day. She does well with other friendly cats.
3/9/25 UPDATE: Anna does pretty well with dogs and people! She would do best in a home with cats that can give her some space and help her with manners. Due to the start of her life she struggles socially when cats her age want to play, she is not mean at all just seems to not know how to engage when they play. She loves her food especially wet food! She warms up to people really quickly and loves sleeping with her people. She's a really petite little girl at about 7lbs. She does seem to love being with people more than other cats, she definitely cares more about us than being with other animals. She is also a talkative little lady that would love to chat with her family! She would be a really great addition to someone's family!! Also she's been learning about toys and her favorite ones are just little green and blue balls that she can carry around in her mouth!
Anna's adoption fee is $95.00.

All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $250 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office
