Meet Amber-see video!

This beautiful young adult calico/tabby Amber was taken to Mult Co shelter with injuries in spring of 2020. This teenage mama was injured fighting with a raccoon while trying to protect her kittens. She has some scars that did not heal from the fight, but no longer cause her any pain. Some of her mental scars from street life are still present though.

When Amber first arrived in her first foster home last spring, she would not let anyone touch her or her kitten. She was a protective supermom, Once her surviving kitten was old enough to leave her, this former fighter became interested in learning about human attention and love.

She is still a work in progress, and will bite if she is frightened or feels overstimulated. Amber needs a patient home, as this young girl has had a very rough start in life. This spunky cat is NOT a good choice for an inexperienced cat owner, and must go to a home who can read her signals. She was adopted and is now being returned to us when her owner had to move to an apartment that will not take pets.

If you can provide Amber with her forever home, we can arrange a socially distant safe meet and greet. She would not do well in a home with young kids, most other pets, or with a loud and busy house. We do not want to set up this cat for another adoption failure, as that is very difficult on cats. We are thus considering her a special needs adoption.

Please head to our website to fill out an application and then set up a meeting. http://nwac-oregon.org/adoption-application/

The $140 adoption fee Includes spay/neuter, microchip, worming and flea treatment, current vaccines for their age, vet exam and a negative test for FIV and FeLV.

Northwest Animal Companions is an all-volunteer, non-profit foster-home based rescue. 100% of your adoption fee goes to provide for the medical and physical needs of the pets in our care.
