While my full-time job is to maintain the petfinder.com website, what I like to do in my free time is play music. Specifically singing and playing guitar in my disco band (Superlydisco). Often times, I try out new effect pedals that give me a different sound to play with and when I do, Betty is eagerly there waiting to give it her paw of approval. I was amazed at Betty’s reaction when I unpacked a new distortion pedal and started tinkering around with it (click the photo to the left to see the video).
We adopted Betty after I looked at her picture on (you guessed it) Petfinder for a total of two days while doing some work on the search pages. As a matter of fact, there was a Happy Tail post written about it here. After two+ years, she’s really turned out to be a great little companion to me and everyone else in the family. She and my daughter Maggie get along like two peas in a pod.

There are many things to consider when adopting a pet and children are no small item on that list. We adopted Betty when Maggie was just six months old and the most important test on her home visit was the “Maggie Test”. She passed with flying colors. We’ve since had another baby girl named Gracie and Betty has already taken to guarding her stroller when she hears her cries. It’s precious.
