Bruno disappeared while his mom was in military training — from Crystal in Leavenworth, KS
In 2008 I left Bruno with my uncle while I was in Texas for a month-long training with the military. I was only gone a few days when my uncle called to tell me that Bruno had gotten out of the yard and he couldn’t find him. Flyers were put up in the neighborhood, but we got no response.
Six months later, I was returning from a trip to Japan. When my flight landed, I had six voicemails from various family members, all telling me that Bruno was
found on the other side of St. Louis. He was found walking down the side of a major four-lane road and a lady had stopped to get him before he got hit by a car. Lucky for me, she took him to the closest vet, where they got my uncle’s contact information from Bruno’s microchip.
Bruno had some bald spots from food allergies and hadn’t had a nail trim in the entire six months he was gone, but other than that he was the same Bruno that I had been missing.
