Prism Parrot Ringneck / Psittacula Alexander, NC

Prism is an 8 year old female Indian ringneck. She is very observant and jumps back at sudden movements, so might do best in a calm environment without fast moving children or dogs. (When startled, she flies erratically, so may not be suitable for a home with animals with high prey drives.) She seems to enjoy swings and toys with shredded paper in them. She loves having some seagrass mats in her cage that she can hide behind. She is eating a variety of foods and seems to especially like blueberries and pomegranate seeds. She also likes sprouted lentils. She's eating Harrison's pellets and Nutriberries as well. We haven't heard her say any words, but she makes some cute squeaky noises. She has plucked feathers under her wings and in places on her back. She may never wish to be touched, and needs a patient, understanding home that will give her space, and go at her pace to build trust.
