• Reason :
• I adopted the caique, unaware and unprepared for his natural temperament. I was pregnant at the time (the bird store seemed concerned only when it was time to take him home, even though I was visibly pregnant from the time we started searching and had paid a deposit already). I have had parakeets and a cockatiel and did not understand the nature and needs of a caique. I now have two small children and find it difficult to give Pokey the attention and love he deserves.
• Notes :
• He is very smart. I have had his wings clipped accidentally - I did not request him to be a flightless bird but the vet clipped the flight wings.
