Petie Parrot Cockatiel St Petersburg, FL

Hello! My name is Petie, and I am a 24-year-old male gray cockatiel. I am looking for a home to spend my golden years!

The first thing you should know about me is that I am almost completely blind. I can only see dim shadows out of one side. While my arthritis keeps me from climbing much in my enclosure, I get around just fine on ground floor perches and platforms. I don't really like to be touched, but I am easy to care for. I still enjoy the finer things in life, like a fresh sprig of millet, whistling or singing a little bit each day, and daytime television like Hawaii 5-0.

The vet says in my old age I am allowed to eat whatever I want! I eat a mixed seed diet and that's not going to change. I love munching on a millet and there a few toys in my cage I like to chew on. Other forms of enrichment are scary for me, since I can't see well. I don't mind the sounds of the other birds that share the house, but I tend to sing more when there is less commotion. My foster mom thinks I would do very well in a quiet home where I can be loved and cared for.

An avian veterinarian has properly vetted all birds before they are placed up for adoption. Adoption fees include the bird’s cage IF the bird has a cage - most do, but please ask!
