Meet Peanut
Meet Peanut! Peanut is a DNA confirmed male Quaker parakeet of unknown age. Like many Quakers, he is protective of his cage, so should be allowed to come out on his own. He is a wonderful flier, so would like to go to a home where he can fly for exercise. He is a funny little guy who enjoys his foster family reading bedtime stories to him. He needs a family interested in doing some positive reinforcement training with him, that will read and respect his body language, and that will let him set the pace. He likely needs a quieter home, as an active family with many people may be overstimulating for him. He does better with smaller groups of people, or even just one on one.
Peanut is already great at eating healthy foods, including cherries, papaya (fresh), strawberries, raspberries, banana, quinoa, oatmeal, egg whites, broccoli, green beans - plus his pellets.
He is currently being fostered in West Virginia.
