Meet Parakeets in NC

We have five female parakeets, and three male parakeets, available for adoption! They are all in a foster home near Hickory, NC. They were transferred to us from a county shelter when their original owner passed away. We have them separated by sex, so they will not breed. But, they'd love to go to homes in groups if possible, or to a home where they might have another parakeet friend. They are shy around people right now, but might warm up with a few bribes of millet. Parakeets seem to thrive in small groups. They have the sweetest chatter that one person remarked to be "the happiest white noise they'd ever heard!"

Interested in learning more about them?

The best way to learn more about them is to complete our parrot match application, found under the "Adoption" tab on our website, www.phoenixlanding.org and send it in so you will be connected with the adoption coordinator for your area. Attending one of our core parrot care classes is also required in order to adopt a parrot. A list of them may be found at https://www.phoenixlanding.org/events.html. Those classes that count as part of the adoption process are noted with an icon beside their title.

Phoenix Landing offers educational classes and facilitates parrot adoptions in Maryland, D.C., Virginia, North Carolina, and northern Florida. Phoenix Landing does not ship birds.
