Meet Forrest
Hello everyone! My name is Forrest and per the Vet's estimate, I am possibly around 15 years old. I am a male Eclectus. Don't be fooled by the loss of my feathers, since I've been settling in at my foster home, I am starting to grow feather fluff!
I am considered a Special Needs parrot due to my a badly out of position wing. The Vet said my left wing was previously broken and healed in “twisted” position, being held by scar tissue. The only remedy would be amputation, but thankfully the Dr reassured the rescue that I am not in any pain. I can move my wing slightly but cannot use it to fly or break a potential fall. So, it is important for my forever family to keep my perches low in my cage. When I am out of my cage, my preference is to walk around on the floor to explore.
I am such a silly little guy! I Like to “kiss and run"! If you lay on the floor with me, I will walk over, tap your arm, make a kissing sound, then scurry away. I will not bite unless I am being held and I feel insecure, like I may fall.
As you can see, I am mostly plucked, and with my wing issue, I cannot flutter to the ground. I will fall very hard, so again, it is best to keep me low to the ground at all times when out of my cage. My amazing foster mom has placed a thick dog bed pad on the floor in front of my cage door in case I come out quickly when my door is opened.
I have such a sweet personality and am not aggressive. I really like to wander and explore, so it would be best if I am not adopted into a home with small children, dogs, or cats. If you would love to meet me, fill out the application below!

An avian veterinarian has properly vetted all birds before they are placed up for adoption. Adoption fees include the bird’s cage IF the bird has a cage - most do, but please ask!
