Species:Green Cheek Conure
Tame:Partly (see behavior issues)
Age:6 years old
Behavior:Felix has a calcium deficiency that causes him to have seizures under stress. This makes him very sensitive, and while I have been able to handle him myself, he gets incredibly overwhelmed when crowded/being taken out when more than a single person is present.
Diet:Zupreem fruit pellets coated in calcium powder. I can provide the calcium powder to whomever he's being placed with.
Talk:None. Never talked, but will dance to about any music given to him. He's more show than tell.
Reason:My parents have been taking care of my birds while I have been away at school, and while this had worked out for the past year, I had recently adopted a kitten as an emotional support animal. This has become an issue not because of the cat's behaviors - she keeps her distance- but because of Felix's sensitivities, he becomes much more easily panicked by seeing the cat around the room. I feel that he would be better off in a more relaxed home that would be more accommodating for him, and less startling.
I have had him for 5 years, he's very well mannered but has been difficult to get him to the vet due to seizures (I've only been able to take him for nail/beak trimmings nearby, our vet for the other birds is too far for what he would likely be able to endure). I also recommend that he only be kept alone or at most, around other birds - he enjoys vocalizing with others, but panics whenever another bird comes near him or his cage.
