Cesar Parrot African Grey Wilmington, NC

Cesar is a 26 year old Congo African grey. He's was paired as a breeder bird with another grey who plucked his head feathers. But look, they're growing back!! Good food, more enrichment, more space, less stress ... all valuable ingredients to good health and can often support feather growth as well.

Since the greys are not a happily bonded pair, we have separated them and Cesar seems very comfortable with that!

Cesar does fine in a home with other animals He has a large vocabulary but most phrases are mumbled. He is really quiet but VERY observant. He enjoys having free passage in and out of his cage. He would benefit from a cage that has a perch and activities on top so he can come out on his own and then go back when ready. He is slowly getting used to spray showers, yay! Cesar is one of those birds who would want to sit with you all day, but it's also important to teach independence and not over snuggle either, for his long-term health and well being.

Some birds are in foster homes that may adopt them, many other birds are waiting for our help and are not yet posted in PetFinders. The adoption coordinator in your area will work with you to find the best home for each bird, and a species and personality that works best for your family too. We want to set everyone up for success, especially our parrots.

However, everyone is welcome and encouraged to join us for our online events. Parrots are unique and they deserve us to be informed caretakers.
