Meet Buddy
Meet adotable Congo African Grey parrot "Buddy." Buddy is approx. 19 yrs old (We believe his hatch-day is 4-22-2002,) and is used to eating a varied diet of parrot pellets and fresh vegetables. He is a bit shy at first, but one he gets to know you a little, is willing to step up and get a little closer. Buddy can be vocal and make a number of "atmospheric sounds" like beeps and boops, especially when you're not in the same room with him.
Buddy arrived with significant areas of missing feathers. He has regrown most of his plumage on a program of outside time in a secure area, nutritious foods and plenty of foraging opportunities. He LOVES his outside time and during periods of inclement weather he does show some feather destructive behavior. For this reason Buddy's new home needs to provide safe access to fresh air and sunshine on a very regular basis. Buddy is also a nervous fellow and needs a quiet home without young children.
Buddy was adopted in 2019, but his family was unable to keep him due to recent hardship caused in 2020 by the pandemic. They loved him very, very much (!!) and were hoping their situation would improve, but unfortunately the circumstances did not.
Attendance at specific PEAC seminars is REQUIRED to be eligible to adopt a foster bird. Please visit our website, www.peac.org, for details on our adoption process. Thank you.
