AnyBehaviorIssues :
Baretta's intentions can be hard to read, but he loves head scratches and loves company. He will scream on occasion if people are not in the room, but this has greatly improved over the several months he has been with us. I believe Baretta would be afraid of other animals in the home, and since he was abused, he would not be a good fit for a family with small children.
Reason :
In our home, we have already have an Umbrella Cockatoo, who has bonded to me. My husband tried to bond with Baretta, but we have come to believe that Baretta was abused by a man, and thus cannot completely trust men. Baretta wants to bond with me, but my Umbrella gets upset when I go near Baretta, and time is also a factor. A home where Baretta could bond with a woman would be ideal.
Notes :
Baretta plucked out many of his feathers before he came to live with us. We have fostered him for 9 months, and in that time, Baretta has improved in many ways. He has stopped plucking his feathers and grown some in on his back. His screaming has all but stopped. He only does it for a short time each day, and it is generally right before he knows we are coming in to visit him (he gets excited :)). He still trembles at times when people are near him, but he approaches me willingly (in his cage), asking for head scratches. He is a very bright, funny little guy with a sweet side to him.

Baretta is currently in foster care with the foster owner. Foster owner can have Baretta vet checked prior to adoption.
