While Babes forms a deep connection with her favorite person, she’s willing to train and interact with others if they’re patient and committed to building trust. Once you’ve put in the effort, Babes will reward you with her loyalty and love. She’s flighted and can fly short distances—especially to follow her favorite person around the home.

Babes’ Specialized Care Needs
Best with Older Males: She bonds most deeply with older men and thrives under their care.
No Small Pets: Babes doesn’t get along with small dogs and may also do best as the only bird in the household.
Indifferent to Children: She isn’t particularly interested in children, but doesn’t react negatively to their presence, noise, or activity level.
Training & Enrichment: Babes is highly trainable and loves engaging with interactive toys, puzzles, and training sessions. She needs an environment that stimulates her intelligence and curiosity.
Freedom to Fly: Since Babes is flighted, she benefits from safe, supervised flight time around the home. She will likely need a patient caregiver to work on flight training to build up her muscles and confidence!
Grooming: Babes came to us with an asymmetrical beak, so it is recommended that she gets regular grooming done by an avian vet.

At 15 years old, Babes is in great health and has many years ahead of her—Eclectus parrots can live 30+ years with proper care. She’s on a diet of fresh vitamin A rich vegetables, some fruit, and high-quality pellets, which is essential for her vibrant plumage and overall health. Regular check-ups with an avian vet will help ensure she stays healthy!
