Meet Griff

Will you Adopt Me?
Please meet Griff! This guy is truly a character and deserves a special home!
Griff spent part of his adult life homeless, roaming land, taking refuge on farms where he was not welcome and learning how to survive on his own and get away from predators and other dangers such as cars. When you find yourself in a survival mode, you learn a lot!
One day a kind lady moved her horses to a farm and noticed a homeless goat. She knew it was not ok for a goat to be homeless, unprotected and without any care. She befriended him which sadly led the owner of the farm to calling Animal Control and Griff was taken to a local animal shelter where he was auctioned off. It was a traumatizing experience for the poor guy. Moving fast forward, Griff experienced more adventures and showed us just how much he loved being free.
Today Griff is fully vetted and much more settled in. Griff is now neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for external parasites and tested negative for common diseases. Griff is no longer terrified of people but is more cautious as he is getting to know his care takers and getting used to his new life.
Griff is not a big goat and is absolutely stunning! He has majestic horns; very soulful eyes and his beard is the envy of the entire Durham County! Our vet believes he is a Pygmy cross.
What would be a perfect home for Griff?
• A home with other goat friends is a must! Goats are herd animals and Griff wants to be with friends as they make him happy and make him feel secure.
• A large pasture with secure fencing. Griff loves to roam, graze and do what goats do.
• A family that understands him and has no expectations of him such as forcing him to be something he is not – Griff enjoys care, but he is an independent soul who will not jump on your lap for cuddles. Perhaps one day you will win his heart and perhaps one day he will jump on your lap but that type of trust must be earned first. He will need a patient family that will allow him to be the free spirit that he is and give him time to learn how trust
If you are that special family that is patient, loving and has a heart for rescued animals, apply to adopt Griff today!
