I look on Petfinder on occasion to see what Schnauzers are in need of rescue (never a short list to pick from). One day my gut told me to "check now," so I did. There sat a 14-1/2-year-old Schnauzer who is deaf, can barely see and had "medical conditions." Just my style! I called to see what his "conditions" were. They were nothing really, but his case needed attention to the fact that he does need a bit more attention. An area veterinarian was suggesting euthanasia because he is not neutered, is deaf, can barely see, has arthritis, and (at the time) really no muscle mass in his back legs. Kind of rough shape. His personality saved him, as the staff hung on to that quality. Theodore is such a special dog. He is the happiest dog you would ever want to meet! The best way that I can explain Theodore is he may look like Eeyore, but he has the personality of Tigger. He has been with us for 11 months now and is doing fantastic. He loves his walks through the woods and his cuddle time, as do we.
