I found Jingles...now named Rudy...on Petfinder.com in February of 2012. Although I grew up with dogs, I had been without a furry best friend for years because of my constant deployments with the Army, which did not leave me with the time to care for such a friend. So, when life slowed down and became much more predictable, I started searching for my best buddy to-be. After a couple of years searching, I found myself staring at the picture of a dog whose eyes reminded of the dogs that I saw in Iraq, scared and intense. What I found was actually quite the opposite. Rudy was being fostered by a wonderful lady named Pam from Canine Friends in North Carolina. From the first moment I saw Rudy and she lay beside me on the couch while Pam and I were talking, I knew that we were going to be buddies for life. Rudy is the smartest, most loving dog. I thank God that He placed such a treasure in my life. I also want to thank Pam and Canine Friends for what they do, caring for these beautiful animals and painstakingly ensuring that they are placed in caring homes one at a time.
