Breed: Australian Cattle Dog / Mix
We found Dixie on Petfinder and immediately feel in love with her. The folks at the Livingston County Humane Society were not only welcoming, but they showed a true passion for their work with the animals. All they knew about Dixie's story was that she was found running, and she was previously fixed (which means someone had her at one point). She stayed their through the waiting period for someone to claim her, and was put up for adoption on Oct. 4th. Five days later I found her on Petfinder and proceeded to pester the nice people at the shelter about her.
Once we got to meet her the bonding was instantaneous. Dixie has a very playful personality. She can play fetch for over an hour non-stop at still want to do more. After having her for a while she really started to warm up to us as well (which is always really good for a shelter dog). One of her favorite things to do is jump on my lap and climb up to my shoulders. Once she gets comfortable she will just lay across them for some time.
I hope all of you reading this have an awesome time with whoever you chose to adopt, and that they steal your heart away like Dixie did from me
