Close to Christmas in 2012 we lost our dog Nina. The loss was very hard on us, so in January we started looking for another dog to adopt. Nina was part yellow Lab, and we decided that we would like another Lab, but we were open to adopting other breeds as well. I searched on Petfinder and found Bella. One of our local shelters posted a profile of Bella on behalf of her family who had to move out of the country. We arranged a meeting to meet Bella, and we fell in love. Her family told us they had another dog available to adopt and introduced us to Tulla. She seemed very sweet as well. I asked my husband what he thought. and he told them that he could not see separating them. We took them both! They are wonderful dogs, and they get along great. I am glad that we kept them together. We have had challenges, though. Bella does not get along with other dogs other than Tulla. However, she is great with people, and most importantly, our son. Tulla was hit by a car as a pup and broke one of her legs. The vet put a pin in her leg, but she still gets around great. She loves going for walks! We also think that Tulla is part Pit Bull. Pit Bulls have a bad reputation, but our Tulla is very loving and sweet. Our two dogs love each other so much that they often snuggle in the same dog bed together. We are one big happy family!
