September 3rd of this year was a very sad day for me. I had to make the decision to say goodbye to my 15 year old black Lab, who had cancer. It just about destroyed me. I had adopted him from the SPCA when he was 8. I couldn't believe it but two days later I was here looking at dogs. I wanted to adopt another senior Lab because I know they don't get a lot of chances to have good homes. But then I saw Rose. No matter how many dogs I looked at, I kept going back to her. Something about her spoke to my heart. She was a special needs dog as she has to have pills every day for a little incontinence. When people found that out about her, they were no longer interested. I just can't imagine turning down such a sweet dog. She has been such a blessing. Couldn't ask for a more perfect dog to help heal my heart over losing my last dog. And if it hadn't been for Petfinder, more than likely I never would have seen her. I drove over two hours to get her. Words cannot describe how perfect a match we are. She is so cute when I get home from work. She can't wait to jump in bed and snuggle. I changed her name to Diamond Rose because I was calling her a gem of a dog. Thank you so much, Petfinder! We are so happy together.
